Frequently asked questions
Short answers for the things people usually check before downloading: what is free, what Pro adds, how sync works, and whether an account is required.
01 Is TickStudio free?
Yes. The core metronome, basic presets, and daily reminders are free. Pro mainly adds larger libraries, performance tools, and deeper history.
02 Which devices are supported?
TickStudio is available for iPhone, iPad, and Android through the App Store and Google Play.
03 What does Pro unlock?
Pro includes setlists, Apple Watch, longer practice history, and preset or setlist import/export. Availability can vary by platform and version.
04 What BPM range does it support?
30 to 300 BPM, covering slow practice, rehearsal tempos, and faster technical work.
05 Which meters are included?
2/4, 3/4, 4/4, 5/4, 6/8, 7/8, 9/8, and 12/8.
06 Which subdivisions are included?
Quarter notes, eighth notes, triplets, and sixteenth notes.
07 Which click sounds are included?
There are 9 click sounds: gear, classic, wood block, beep, digital, drum kit, ringtone, typewriter, and clack.
08 What are practice speeds?
They are saved tempo steps inside a preset, such as beginner, practice, normal, and challenge. You can practice slower without losing the target tempo.
09 Do practice speeds update when preset BPM changes?
Yes. Normal speed follows the preset BPM, and related speeds adjust around it. You can still fine-tune each step.
10 Can each practice speed be adjusted?
Yes. Each saved speed can be opened and adjusted separately.
11 What changes for beginners?
Beginners get a slower starting speed and clearer guidance that target tempo does not have to be the first tempo.
12 Can I switch speeds without opening settings?
Yes. Double-tap empty space on the main screen, away from buttons and cards, to switch the current preset practice speed.
13 Can I save settings for a specific song?
Yes. A preset can store tempo, meter, subdivision, sound, volume, count-in, and practice speeds.
14 When does preset search appear?
Search appears when the library is large enough to need it. Small libraries stay simpler.
15 Do presets sync across devices?
On iOS, TickStudio can sync library data with your iCloud. On Android, Google Drive sync can be enabled in Settings.
16 Can I use it offline?
Yes. Core tempo, meter, presets, and playback work locally. Ads, purchase checks, iCloud, Google Drive, or Wi-Fi sync may need network or platform services.
17 Can it play in the background?
When the platform allows it. Battery saver, background rules, and device settings can still affect playback.
18 Does TickStudio track practice?
Yes. Recent practice, full history, heatmap, goals, and achievements can work together.
19 Can free users see all history?
Some deeper history views may require Pro. Core metronome practice stays free.
20 Are achievements still available?
Yes. Achievements mark consistency, longer practice, and setlist preparation.
21 Are daily reminders Pro?
No. Daily reminders are free, default to 8 PM, and can be changed or turned off in Settings.
22 Is import/export Pro?
Preset and performance setlist import/export are Pro tools.
23 What is a performance setlist?
It arranges multiple song presets in rehearsal or stage order so the next song tempo is ready.
24 What is Wi-Fi sync?
It keeps supported performance devices aligned on the same local network.
25 Does TickStudio support Apple Watch?
Supported iOS/watchOS setups can use Apple Watch. It is an advanced performance tool.
26 Do I need a TickStudio account?
No. Core metronome use needs no account. iOS sync uses your iCloud. Android sync uses Google sign-in only when you enable Google Drive sync.
27 Which languages are supported?
The app and website are available in multiple mainstream languages.
28 Does my practice library upload to your own server?
TickStudio does not require its own account backend for your practice library. Data stays on device by default. Optional sync uses Apple iCloud or Google Drive.
29 Which third-party services are involved?
App stores, RevenueCat, Google AdMob, Firebase/Google services, Apple iCloud, and Cloudflare may be used for purchases, ads, diagnostics, sync, downloads, website delivery, and support.
30 How can I reduce audio latency?
Turn off battery saver and reduce heavy background apps. For latency-sensitive practice, wired audio is usually safer than a loaded Bluetooth path.
For the exact current state, check the app.
Pro, sync, and reminder availability depends on the version and platform you are using.
